Theragnostic ultrasound using microbubbles in the treatment of prostate cancer [PDF]

open access: yesUltrasonography, 2016
The use of gas-filled microbubbles in perfusion monitoring as intravascular ultrasound contrast agents has recently become more common. Additionally, microbubbles are employed as carriers of pharmaceutical substances or genes.

High‐Efficiency Precipitate Recycling Strategy Paves the Way for Efficient Sb2S3 Solar Cells Fabricated by CBD Method

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel PR strategy was proposed to improve CBD‐derived Sb2S3 film quality. It synergistically optimized the CBO of CdS/Sb2S3 interface and the back‐contact barrier, while the VS2 donor defect was converted into SSb2 acceptor defect with lower concentration.

Ultrasound‐activated microbubbles as a novel intracellular drug delivery system for urinary tract infection

open access: yesJournal of Controlled Release, 2019
The development of new modalities for high‐efficiency intracellular drug delivery is a priority for a number of disease areas. One such area is urinary tract infection (UTI), which is one of the most common infectious diseases globally and which imposes ...

Automation and Active Learning for the Multi‐Objective Optimization of Antibody Formulations

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Successful antibody formulation necessitates balancing factors such as thermal stability, colloidal stability, and viscosity across a vast excipient design space. This work integrates robotic liquid handling, high‐throughput biophysical characterization, and multi‐objective Bayesian optimization in an iterative closed‐loop Design‐Build‐Test‐Learn cycle.

Nanoparticle-Coated Microbubbles for Combined Ultrasound Imaging and Drug Delivery.

open access: yesLangmuir, 2019
Biomedical microbubbles stabilized by a coating of magnetic or drug-containing nanoparticles show great potential for theranostics applications. Nanoparticle-coated microbubbles can be made to be stable, to be echogenic, and to release the cargo of drug ...

A Sustainable Bio‐Based Epoxy Thermoset as a High‐Performance Alternative to BPA‐Based Resins

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A rigid–flexible bio‐based epoxy network integrates soybean oil, lignin, and maleic anhydride to overcome the strength–toughness–sustainability trade‐off of conventional BPA epoxy. The thermoset delivers excellent performance as both a structural adhesive and a matrix for glass‐fabric composites, while enabling pH‐responsive degradation, environmental ...

Spatiotemporally Ultrasound‐Controlled Nanoparticles Reprogramming Immunostimulatory Antigen‐Presenting Cancer‐Associated Fibroblasts to Enhance Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We developed an ultrasound‐controlled biomimetic nanoplatform, mRNA/V@M NPs, to co‐deliver CD74 mRNA and V‐9302 for fibrotic TNBC therapy. CD74 mRNA reprograms myCAFs into antigen‐presenting apCAF cells through the CD74‐MHC II pathway, while V‐9302 induces ICD and activates MHC I‐CD8+ T cell immunity.

Characterization of Different Microbubbles in Assisting Focused Ultrasound-Induced Blood-Brain Barrier Opening

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Microbubbles (MBs) serve as a critical catalyst to amplify local cavitation in CNS capillary lumen to facilitate focused ultrasound (FUS) to transiently open the blood-brain barrier (BBB).

Synergistic p53 Pathway Activation Through Sono‐Gene Therapy Induced by Ultrasound‐Triggered Theranostic Mesoporous Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Schematic representation of ultrasound‐mediated ICG/siCD24@MSN‐LCD from nanostructure to synergistic sono‐gene therapy. This nanoplatform targets ASGPR via the LCD shell, which dissociates to release loaded ICG and siCD24. The core mechanism involves ultrasound‐guided sonodynamic therapy by ICG and CD24 knockdown by siCD24, both activating the p53 axis
