Nature Nanotechnology
The development of micro- and nanorobots has amplified the demand for intelligent multifunctional machines in biomedical applications, but most microrobotic systems struggle to achieve the attributes needed for those applications. Here we introduce enzymatic microbubble robots that exhibit steerable motion, enhanced biodegradability, high in vivo ...

Radial modulation of single microbubbles
IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control, 2009Radial modulation imaging is a new promising technique to improve contrast-enhanced ultrasound images. The method is based on dual-frequency insonation of contrast agent microbubbles. A low-frequency (LF) pulse is used to modulate the responses of the microbubbles to a high-frequency (HF) imaging pulse.

Microbubble Dissolution in a Multigas Environment
Langmuir, 2010Microbubbles occur naturally in the oceans and are used in many industrial and biomedical applications. Here, a theoretical and experimental study was undertaken to determine the fate of a microbubble suddenly suspended in a medium with several gas species as in, for example, the injection of an ultrasound contrast agent into the bloodstream. The model

Basic Acoustic Properties of Microbubbles
Echocardiography, 2002Small (encapsulated) gas bubbles in a contrast medium react to an external oscillating pressure field with volume pulsations. Depending on the magnitude of the ultrasound wave, the vibrations will be related either linearly or nonlinearly to the applied acoustic pressure.
