Formation and dissolution of microbubbles on highly-ordered plasmonic nanopillar arrays
Bubble formation from plasmonic heating of nanostructures is of great interest in many applications. In this work, we study experimentally the intrinsic effects of the number of three-dimensional plasmonic nanostructures on the dynamics of microbubbles ...

A Systematic Review on Disease‐Modifying Therapies in Parkinsonian Disorders
Parkinsonian disorders, including Parkinson's disease, Lewy body dementia, multiple system atrophy, and progressive supranuclear palsy, are progressive neurodegenerative conditions with no treatment options to slow disease progression. This systematic review provides an overview of evidence of disease‐modifying therapies that have been evaluated in ...

Plasmonic microbubbles: nucleation, growth and collapse [PDF]
Noble metal nanoparticles immersed in a liquid and irradiated by resonant light can rapidly heat up to high temperatures, due to their peculiar absorption ability, and transfer the heat to the surrounding liquid, leading to the formation of bubbles, which have broad application potential in many plasmonic-enhanced processes.

Pancreatic cancer cell detection by targeted lipid microbubbles and multiphoton imaging
Surgical resection of pancreatic cancer represents the only chance of cure and long-term survival in this common disease. Unfortunately, determination of a cancer-free margin at surgery is based on one or two tiny frozen section biopsies, which is far ...

Acoustic‐driven surface cleaning with millimeter‐sized bubbles at translational resonance
Time‐lapse visualization comparing bubble trajectories. The top panel (0 Hz) shows a bubble's linear path under no acoustic forcing, while the bottom panel (50 Hz) demonstrates the oscillatory motion induced by acoustic waves at a resonance mode. This mechanism holds promising potential for applications such as surface cleaning.

Spectral Imaging for Microbubble Characterization
Microbubbles stabilized by an outer lipid shell have been studied extensively for both diagnostic and therapeutic applications. The shell composition can significantly influence microbubble behavior, but performing quantitative measurements of shell properties is challenging.

Photothermal bubble: Dynamics, manipulation, and applications
As a versatile platform for bubble manipulation, photothermal techniques empower diverse operations: planar translation by scanning the laser spot, sustained periodic bouncing from competing thermal and hydrodynamic flows, and even guided 3D trajectories achieved by tailoring the heating configuration.
