Analysis and modeling of microburst precipitation
Observations from a recent rocket experiment that measured electrons over the energy range of 1–300 keV shows that microburst temporal structures exist from about 20 keV to >120 keV. Simultaneous observations at five different pitch‐angles (0°–90°) show the distribution is nearly isotropic during the bursts, while at low activity (quiet times and ...

Association of Relativistic Electron Microbursts Duration With Chorus Wave Properties
Relativistic electron microbursts are correlated with resonant scattering by whistler‐mode chorus waves. Here, we use chorus wave properties obtained from Van Allen Probe A to calculate the duration of relativistic microbursts.

VHF discharges in storm cells producing microbursts [PDF]
An experiment was carried out in which 3-D mapping of VHF sources was compared to a 3-D description of the reflectivity and dynamics of associated cloud cells observed by a radar network.

Severe Weather Events over Southeastern Brazil during the 2016 Dry Season
Southeastern Brazil is the most populated and economically developed region of this country. Its climate consists of two distinct seasons: the dry season, extending from April to September, the precipitation is significantly reduced in comparison to that

A proposed definition for a pitch attitude target for the microburst escape maneuver [PDF]
The Windshear Training Aid promulgated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) defines the practical recovery maneuver following a microburst encounter as application of maximum thrust accompanied by rotation to an aircraft-specific target pitch ...
