Ultrafast microchannel plate photomultipliers
Applied Optics, 1988Performance characteristics of several new types of photomultiplier tubes (PMT) with microchannel plates (MCP) are presented in this paper. They are the MCP-PMT with 6-microm diam channels, MCP-PMT with an S-l photocathode, and MCP-PMT with multi (discrete) anode and gatable MCP-PMT.

This chapter provides a condensed summary and critical analysis of the state-of-the-art knowledge and active research directions on flow boiling in microchannels. The treatment is motivated by high heat flux cooling applications in microelectronics and high-energy physics, where microscale flow boiling is extensively used for reliable cooling.

ac electroosmosis in rectangular microchannels
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2005Motivated by the growing interest in ac electroosmosis as a reliable no moving parts strategy to control fluid motion in microfluidic devices for biomedical applications, such as lab-on-a-chip, we study transient and steady-state electrokinetic phenomena (electroosmosis and streaming currents) in infinitely extended rectangular charged microchannels ...

Bubble dynamics in microchannels. Part II: two parallel microchannels
International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, 2004Abstract The present work investigates experimentally the bubble dynamics in two parallel trapezoidal microchannels with a hydraulic diameter of 47.7 μm for both channels. The fabrication process of the two parallel microchannels employs a silicon bulk micromachining and anodic bounding process.

Evaporative Microchannel Cooling: An Atomistic Approach
2010 14th International Heat Transfer Conference, Volume 6, 2010Heat generation and temperature rise in electronic devices is a technical problem with increasing importance, since the number of transistors per surface area on integrated circuitries is rapidly increasing. If the heat cannot effectively be carried away damage in the circuitry may occur. Therefore enhanced and integrated cooling is needed. A promising
