An energy-free strategy to elevate anti-icing performance of superhydrophobic materials through interfacial airflow manipulation

open access: yesNature Communications
Superhydrophobic surfaces demonstrate excellent anti-icing performance under static conditions. However, they show a marked decrease in icing time under real flight conditions. Here we develop an anti-icing strategy using ubiquitous wind field to improve

Establishment of a Single-Oocyte Culture System for Pigs and Its Validation Using Curcumin as a Model Antioxidant for Oocyte Maturation

open access: yesAnimals
Since individual embryos cannot be evaluated in group culture, establishing a single culture from in vitro maturation to in vitro culture may provide new insights into oocyte and embryo quality.

Microbial Community Dynamics in Marine Water: Influence of Hydrocarbon Type and Exposure Time

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Marine environments are frequently impacted by petroleum‐derived hydrocarbons, which pose ecological risks because of their toxic, mutagenic, and carcinogenic potential. Microorganisms play a crucial role in hydrocarbon degradation, and understanding the influence of time and hydrocarbon type on microbial dynamics helps improve bioremediation ...

Drop-on-demand microdroplet generation: a very stable platform for single-droplet experimentation

open access: yes, 2016
This paper reports the performance of drop-on-demand piezo-activated microdroplet generation investigated using microdroplet cavity enhanced fluorescence spectroscopy. Aqueous microdroplets, doped with a fluorescent dye, exhibit fluorescence spectra that

Serine Octamer Substitution Reactions With α‐Hydroxy Acids

open access: yesRapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry, Volume 40, Issue 18, 30 September 2026.
ABSTRACT Rationale The amino acid serine forms chiral magic number clusters, which can be studied using mass spectrometry (MS). Serine octamer clusters are also known to incorporate one or two nonserine monomers with serine monomers to make up the octamer.

Integrated Single‐Cell RNA Sequencing and Untargeted Metabolomics Reveals β‐Elemene's Immune and Metabolic Modulation in Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer

open access: yesMedComm – Oncology, Volume 5, Issue 3, September 2026.
In a 4T1 TNBC model, β‐elemene suppressed tumor growth and pulmonary metastasis. scRNA‐seq showed it remodeled the tumor microenvironment by reducing cancer‐associated fibroblasts, enhancing antigen presentation, and inhibiting pro‐tumorigenic ECM remodeling. Metabolomics revealed prostaglandin downregulation.

Miniaturized Droplet‐Based Adaptation of the Ames Test for High‐Throughput Mutagenicity Assessment

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, Volume 46, Issue 8, Page 2791-2802, August 2026.
ABSTRACT This work presents the first demonstration of a tube‐based droplet microfluidic implementation of the Ames test, bridging single‐droplet resolution with regulatory genotoxicity testing. The Ames test is a cornerstone assay for detecting mutagenicity, but conventional plate‐ and well‐based formats suffer from high reagent consumption, low ...
