Abstract Background Subthalamic nucleus deep brain stimulation (STN DBS) improves Parkinson's disease (PD)‐related motor symptoms, but how STN DBS impacts various aspects of patient‐perceived health‐related quality of life (HRQoL) is less clear. The Patient‐Reported Outcome Measurement Instrument (PROMIS) and Quality of Life in Neurological Disorders ...

Presynaptic Congenital Myasthenic Syndromes
ABSTRACT Presynaptic congenital myasthenic syndromes (CMS) encompass a large number of rare neurologic disorders caused by impaired release of acetylcholine (ACh) from motor nerve terminals. There are two main groups of presynaptic CMS: one in which the amount of ACh in synaptic vesicles (SV) is diminished and another in which the mechanism of synaptic

ABSTRACT The congenital myasthenic syndromes are rare disorders of impaired signal transmission at the neuromuscular junction. Despite next generation sequencing facilitating the identification of variants in myasthenic‐associated genes, these variants are frequently of unknown significance and the clinical diagnosis can be delayed.

In Vitro Reconstruction of Axonal Heat Sensing with a Photothermal Nerve‐on‐a‐Chip
A photothermal nerve‐on‐a‐chip platform is presented that enables precise, localized heating of sensory axons with simultaneous electrical recording. The system reveals millisecond‐scale dynamics of heat‐evoked neural activity and provides a new approach to study how temperature‐dependent ion channel behavior is translated into axonal firing.
