Tunable Extraordinary Optical Transmission in the Long‐Wavelength Infrared Range Using Electrostatic MEMS Actuation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A MEMS‐integrated metamaterial filter enables continuous, low‐voltage spectral tuning in the long‐wavelength infrared (LWIR). The device employs extraordinary optical transmission in a dual suspended metasurface stack, where electrostatic actuation precisely controls the intermembrane air gap.

Development of nanowire devices with quantum functionalities

open access: yes, 2015
Silicon has dominated the microelectronics industry for the last 50 years. With its zero nuclear spin isotope (28Si) and low spin orbit coupling, it is believed that silicon can become an excellent host material for an entirely new generation of devices ...

Self‐Soldering, Stretchable and Self‐Healing Liquid Metal Elastomer Interconnections for Soft Electronics Platforms

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A self‐healing and electrically conductive liquid metal elastomer enables robust self‐soldering of surface mount devices for soft electronics. Photothermally activated conductive pathways, strong pressure‐sensitive adhesion, and stable package‐integrated contacts provide high conductivity and extreme stretchability.

Optoelectronically Active GaAs/GeSn‐MQW/Ge Heterojunctions Created via Semiconductor Grafting

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Semiconductor Grafting enables a lattice‐mismatched GaAs/GeSn‐MQW/Ge heterojunction with engineered band offsets and optical field distribution. The enlarged conduction and valence band discontinuities govern asymmetric carrier transport, producing bias‐dependent dual‐mode photodetection from visible to near‐infrared wavelengths.

Simulation and experimental investigation of liquid-cooling thermal management for high-bandwidth co-packaged optics

open access: yesFrontiers of Optoelectronics
This study explores the application of cold plate liquid cooling technology in co-packaged optics (CPO). By integrating optical modules and the switch chip on the same substrate, CPO shortens the electrical interconnection distance, effectively solving ...

Micromachined Double‐Membrane Mechanically Tunable Metamaterial for Thermal Infrared Filtering

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 6, Issue 5, May 2025.
Herein, a mechanically tunable double‐layer plasmonic metamaterial leveraging the extraordinary optical transmission effect observed in subwavelength arrays of openings within thin metal layers is presented. The concept is experimentally validated by integrating the proposed metamaterial structure into an electrostatic parallel‐plate actuator to create

Low‐temperature SOI SiGe/Si superlattice FinFET with omega‐shaped channel and self‐allied silicide for 3D sequential IC

open access: yesElectronics Letters
In this letter, to improve the performance and reduce leakage currents of bulk low‐temperature multi‐layer SiGe/Si superlattice (SL) fin field‐effect transistors (FinFETs), a p‐type omega‐shaped channel (Ω‐channel) SL FinFET is realized by etching a Si ...
