Microfacies of Cambrian Limestones in Jordan
Facies, 1992The limestones of the Wadi Nasb Formation of the uppermost Lower Cambrian of Jordan are under- and overlain by massive sandstones of a near-shore facies. Facies analysis is based on samples from an outcrop at the northeastern shore of the Dead Sea and two oil test wells in the Wadi Sirhan Depression in eastern Jordan.

Facies and microfacies of slope deposits
CATENA, 1999Abstract This paper reviews the facies and microfacies of the main types of slope deposits. Lamination and sorting, when preserved, are good evidence for overland flow. Features due to deformation (folds, boudins, coatings and tails due to the rotation of clasts) are associated with the early stages of deformation in earth slides.

Petrographic microfacies classification with deep convolutional neural networks
Computers & Geosciences, 2020Petrographic analysis is based on the microscopic description and classification of rocks and is a crucial technique for sedimentary and diagenetic studies. When compared to hand specimens, thin sections provide better and more accurate means for analysis of mineral proportion, distribution, texture, pore space analysis, and cement composition.

2004A rapid evolution in our understanding of carbonate rocks was triggered in the mid- to late 50’s by the discovery of carbonate reservoirs in various parts of the world, followed by intensive research of recent carbonates.
