Fine structure of microgametogenesis of Eimeria ferrisi Levine and Ivens 1965 in Mus musculus

Zeitschrift fr Parasitenkunde, 1977
The microgamogony of Eimeria ferrisi from experimentally infected mice was investigated with the electron microscope. Microgamonts were recognizable by the presence of peripherally arranged nuclei and the presence of single or paired centrioles between each nucleus and the limiting membrane of the parasite.

Microsporogenesis and Microgametogenesis of Male‐Sterile Mutant ms1 in Alfalfa

Crop Science, 2013
ABSTRACTThe use of male sterile lines is one of the ways to reduce the selfing rates and thus maximize heterosis in alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.). A spontaneous, stable male sterile mutant ms1 has been derived from M. sativa ‘Graze401’. In this paper, the microsporogenesis and microgametogenesis have been examined in ms1 and wild‐type plants under light

Fine structure of microgametogenesis ofBarroussia schneideri (Coccidia: Eimerriina) in the centipedeLithobius forficatus

Zeitschrift fr Parasitenkunde Parasitology Research, 1983
The ultrastructure of the microgamont and microgamete of the coccidianBarroussia schneideri was studied in the intestinal cells of the centipede,Lithobius forficatus. Microgamonts contained many mitochondria and extensive cisternae of granular endoplasmic reticulum closely associated with polysaccharide granules.

Rye B Chromosomes Influence the Dynamics of Histone H3 Methylation during Microgametogenesis

Cytogenetic and Genome Research, 2014
We have studied the trimethylation dynamics of lysines 4 and 27 of histone H3 in rye with and without B chromosomes (Bs) in root tip mitosis, meiosis, and pollen grain mitosis by immunostaining. In root meristems, H3K4me3 immunolabeling was homogeneous along the chromosome arms of the normal complement (As), with the exception of the pericentromeric ...

Autoradiographic and microphotometric studies of desoxyribose nucleic acid during microgametogenesis in lilium longiflorum

Chromosoma, 1953
1. The technique for making autoradiographs with stripping film is described in detail. Methods for administering P32 to plants and for preparation of tissues for autoradiographs are given. 2. Two different methods, enzyme digestion and acid hydrolysis, which were used for separating RNA, DNA, and phosphoprotein in tissue sections, were ...

Fine‐Structural Aspects of Microgametogenesis of Eimeria magna in Rabbits and in Kidney Cell Cultures*

The Journal of Protozoology, 1976
SYNOPSIS. The fine‐structural aspects of development of microgamonts of Eimeria magna were studied in kidney cell cultures and in experimentally infected rabbits. Spheroidal masses of gamont‐like cytoplasm containing ribosomes, polyribosomes, and amylopectin granules were found within the parasitophorous vacuole; these bodies were apparently pinched ...

[Microsporogenesis y microgametogenesis de annatto (Bixa orellana L.)].

Acta cientifica venezolana, 2003
A series of buds of increasing maturity were individually sampled in order to examine cytological events of annatto (Bixa orellana L.), genotype Portuguesa. They were fixed in Carnoy II at 12:30 am, time of the highest rate of meiotic division. Three stain solutions were attempted.

Ultrastructural studies of microgametogenesis and macrogametogenesis of Eimeria truncata of the lesser snow goose.

The Journal of protozoology, 1986
Microgamonts and macrogamonts of Eimeria truncata were observed in renal epithelial cells of collecting tubules and ducts and occasionally in macrophages of experimentally infected lesser snow geese (Anser c. caerulescens) beginning 8.5 days post inoculation. Intraparasitophorous vesicles in parasitophorous vacuoles of both types of gamonts appeared to
