Internal structure and swelling behaviour of in silico microgel particles [PDF]
Microgels are soft colloids that, in virtue of their polymeric nature, can react to external stimuli such as temperature or pH by changing their size. The resulting swelling/deswelling transition can be exploited in fundamental research as well as for ...

Whey protein isolate (WPI) can be used effectively to produce food-grade particles for stabilizing Pickering emulsions. In the present study, crosslinking of WPI microgels using organic acids (tannic and citric acids) is proposed to improve their ...

Microgels Adsorbed at Liquid-Liquid Interfaces: A Joint Numerical and Experimental Study [PDF]
Soft particles display highly versatile properties with respect to hard colloids, even more so at fluid-fluid interfaces. In particular, microgels, consisting of a cross-linked polymer network, are able to deform and flatten upon adsorption at the ...

Evidence of a low-temperature dynamical transition in concentrated microgels [PDF]
A low-temperature dynamical transition has been reported in several proteins. We provide the first observation of a `protein-like' dynamical transition in nonbiological aqueous environments.

Quantum Mechanics of Insitu Synthesis of Inorganic Nanoparticles with in Anionic Microgels [PDF]
In this work, we discuss the quantum mechanics of many-body systems i.e. hybrid microgel consisting of negatively charged anionic microgels possessing thick sheath of water molecules solvating its protruding anionic moieties and nanoparticle captivated ...

Studying synthesis confinement effects on the internal structure of nanogels in computer simulations [PDF]
We study the effects of droplet finite size on the structure of nanogel particles synthesized by random crosslinking of molecular polymers diluted in nanoemulsions.

Overcharging and reentrant condensation of thermoresponsive ionic microgels [PDF]
We investigated the complexation of thermoresponsive anionic poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNiPAM) microgels and cationic $\epsilon$-polylysine ($\epsilon$-PLL) chains. By combining electrophoresis, light scattering, transmission electron microscopy (TEM)

Thermodynamics of ionic microgels [PDF]
We present a theory of dilute aqueous suspensions of microgel particles. It is found that as the number of charged monomers in the polymer network composing mesoscopic gel increases, the particles undergo a swelling transition. Depending on the hydrophobicity of the polymer, this transition can be either continuous or discontinuous.

Micron-Sized Silica-PNIPAM Core-Shell Microgels with Tunable Shell-To-Core Ratio
Micron-sized hard core-soft shell hybrid microgels are promising model systems for studies of soft matter as they enable in-situ optical investigations and their structures/morphologies can be engineered with a great variety.
