Insight into microgrid protection
Microgrids consist of a combination of generation resources and load, forming an electrically sustainable entity. Although the feeder configuration, including location of circuit breakers or switches, and selection of protective devices can change from one microgrid to another, some characteristics like size of microgrid and behavior of sources feeding

This review systematically examines how different transition metal compounds—such as binary and multinary metal oxides, halides, sulfides, and salts—exhibit thermochromism based on the d‐electron configurations of their transition metal cations. It focuses on three main mechanisms of thermochromism: phase transition, charge transfer, and bandgap change.

An Active Protection Scheme for Islanded Microgrids [PDF]
The paper proposes a relatively simple active protection strategy incorporating controllers of the inverter for islanded microgrids dominated by inverter based distributed generators (IBDGs) that can overcome well-understood shortcomings in traditional overcurrent protection schemes applied to weak islanded systems.

A Type‐3 fuzzy ambiguity encoder converts rolling wind, price, reserve‐activation, and confidence features into central estimates and nested uncertainty bounds. These parameters are updated within a receding‐horizon MILP/MIQP that coordinates wind, battery, and supercapacitor capacity across day‐ahead and ancillary‐service markets.

Transient analysis of a hybrid microgrid system [PDF]
The penetration of Distributed Energy Resources in power generation has increased considerably during the last two decades. Low voltage grids are configured as microgrids in which the most common energy resources are photovoltaic systems and wind ...

ABSTRACT In privacy protection of control systems, a trade‐off between control performance and privacy level is often pointed out. Our goal in this paper is to improve this trade‐off by shaping the frequency of noise added for privacy protection when the control objective is to track a reference signal, which is taken as a piece of information whose ...

Communication Assisted Protection Scheme Based on Artificial Neural Networks for Multi-Microgrid
Designing a properly coordinated protection scheme for a multi-microgrid is very challenging because of their distinct characteristics. A microgrid can be operated in a grid-connected mode through direct connection to utility or through another grid ...
