Mechanical Property Comparison of AISI 5120 Steel Produced by LENS and DMD Systems
This study compares AISI 5120 steel produced by LENS and DMD processes, revealing trade‐offs in mechanical performance. LENS offers higher surface hardness and impact toughness, while DMD provides superior tensile strength and ductility. Findings guide process selection for application‐specific needs in automotive, aerospace, and heavy machinery ...

Microhardness of Multiphase Polymer Based Systems
Hardness together with abrasivity is quite often used in the field of wear resistance as the criteria for judging surfaces of the alloys, castings, hardfacings and overlays. This research is devoted to the investigation of microhardness phenomena of poly

ABSTRACT NiTi shape memory alloys (SMAs) show excellent performance in vibration damping and corrosion resistance. However, due to low hardness and lack of self‐lubrication, they suffer severe friction and wear during service. Although various strategies including doping and heterostructure design have been proposed, the effects are unsatisfactory.

Cobalt substitution at the Fe and Ni sites in ZrFe0.5Ni0.5Sb induces lattice softening and stiffening, respectively, reducing κlatt in n‐type samples while increasing it in p‐type counterparts. A Debye–Callaway model implementation is employed to deconvolute phonon transport suppression mechanisms, revealing that anharmonicity‐related mechanisms ...
