Bioresponsive Hydrogel Microlenses
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2005We report investigations of bioresponsive hydrogel microlenses as a new protein detection technology. Stimuli-responsive poly(N-isopropylacrylamide-co-acrylic acid) (pNIPAm-co-AAc) microgels have been synthesized via free-radical precipitation polymerization. These hydrogel microparticles were then functionalized with biotin via EDC coupling.

Applied Optics, 1994
A new type of imaging microlens, primarily for use with solid-state image-capture systems such as a charge coupled device (CCD) or metal oxide semiconductor array sensors, is described. The design, having less aberration than conventional lenses of similar specification, is particularly advantageous in wide-angle, low-light applications.

Since the first discoveries (Aubourg et al. 1993) (Alcock et al. 1993) (Udalski et al. 1993), hundreds of microlensing effects have been detected in the direction of the galactic bulge together with a handfull of events towards the LMC. The EROS microlensing searches in the LMC and (more recently) SMC directions are sensitive to the component of the ...
