Micromagnetic Simulation of Switching Events
2007Magnetic switching of small particles, thin film elements and magnetic nanowires becomes increasingly important in magnetic storage and magneto electronic devices. Micromagnetic switching events are studied using a hybrid finite element / boundary element method.

High-performance micromagnetic simulations using OpenCL
Proceedings of the International Workshop on OpenCL, 2020We study the possibility to achieve optimal performance in micromagnetic simulation using GPGPU OpenCL calculations. We take into account several possibilities to accelerate using GPU-specific optimizations and reuse of external data arrays, and achieve up to 70% of theoretical maximum.

Micromagnetic Simulation of the imaginary part of the transverse susceptibility
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2005The transverse susceptibility (TS) signal of interacting magnetic systems with volume and anisotropy fields distribution was presented. The temperature dependence of TS was studied using the stochastic Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation. Temperature has affected the oscillation of the moment and the magnitude of the phase shifts.

Micromagnetic Simulation of Recording Write Heads a Comparison of Various Micromagnetic Software
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2012The performance of three micromagnetic software were compared: (a) originally developed by Hitachi and refined at Kogakuin Univeristy and Niigata Institute of Technology, (b) developed by Fujitsu, and (c) Magpar, a free, public domain software. A perpendicular write head was modeled to compare the performance of these software.

Micromagnetic simulation method with N1.5 scaling
Journal of Applied Physics, 1999A thin permalloy film with dimensions of 1 μm×2 μm×20 nm was simulated with a new three-dimensional method. The method is designed in such a way that the computing time scales roughly as N1.5 in the number N of discretization elements used to describe the system.

Micromagnetic simulations of antiferromagnetically coupled media
Journal of Applied Physics, 2002Antiferromagnetically coupled media were simulated using a micromagnetic model. Magnetic parameters, initially determined by fitting hysteresis loops to experimental media, were varied to determine their effect upon recording performance. The signal-to-noise ratio can be enhanced by tailoring the magnetic properties of the bias layer to an optimum Ms ...

Parallelisation of micromagnetic simulations
2017The field of paleomagnetism attempts to understand in detail the the processes of the Earth by studying naturally occurring magnetic samples. These samples are quite unlike those fabricated in the laboratory. They have irregular shapes; they have been squeezed and stretched, heated and cooled and subjected to oxidation.

Micromagnetic simulations of helimagnetic nanostructures [PDF]
Complex magnetic materials hosting topologically non-trivial, particle-like objects such as skyrmions or Bloch points are under intensive research and could fundamentally change the way we store and process data. One important class of materials in which such chiral magnetisation configurations can be found are helimagnetic materials with ...
