Eight-chain and full-network models and their modified versions for rubber hyperelasticity: a comparative study

open access: yesJournal of the Mechanical Behavior of Materials, 2015
The eight-chain model, also known as Arruda-Boyce model, is widely used to capture the rate-independent hyperelastic response of rubber-like materials. The parameters of this model are physically based and explained from micromechanics of chain molecules.

Micromechanical approach for the analysis of wave propagation in particulate composites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Laser ultrasonic non-destructive testing is widely used for the inspection of mechanical structures. This method uses the propagation of ultrasonic guided waves (UGW) in the media.

Assessment of Melt Rheological Behavior of PTT/PE and PTT/PA 12 Blends by Emulsion and Micromechanical Models [PDF]

open access: yesعلوم و تکنولوژی پلیمر, 2009
To describe the rheological behavior of polymer blends using emulsionbased (Palierne theory) as well as micromechanical models (Coranapproach), two immiscible polymeric blend systems of poly(trimethylene terephthalate) (PTT)/polyamide-12 (PA12) and PTT ...

An Estimation of Longitudinal Strength Reduction of Unidirectional E-glass/Epoxy Composite Exposed to Sulfuric Acid Using a Micromechanics Model [PDF]

open access: yesعلوم و تکنولوژی پلیمر, 2012
A new model is proposed in this research to calculate the longitudinal strengthof unidirectional E-glass reinforced polymer composites exposed to sulfuricacid environment, using a micromechanics model.

Thermomechanics of Disperse-Filled Composites and Computer Design of Materials with Record High Thermal Conductivity

open access: yesМеханика машин, механизмов и материалов, 2023
On the example of metal-diamond composites (MDC), a number of issues of thermomechanics of disperse-filled materials with high thermal conductivity used for thermal management are formulated and solved.

Creep and Fracture in Concrete: A Fractional Order Rate Approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The paper analyses the interaction between strain-softening and time-dependent behaviour in the case of quasi-static fracture of concrete. A viscous element based on a fractional order rate law is coupled with a micromecanical model for the fracture ...

Model‐reduction in micromechanics of polycrystalline materials [PDF]

open access: yesPAMM, 2017
AbstractThe present study is devoted to the generalization of the Nonuniform Transformation Field Analysis (NTFA), a model‐reduction approach introduced by the authors. First, the local fields of internal variables are decomposed on a reduced basis of modes.

Discrete modelling of capillary mechanisms in multi-phase granular media [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A numerical study of multi-phase granular materials based upon micro-mechanical modelling is proposed. Discrete element simulations are used to investigate capillary induced effects on the friction properties of a granular assembly in the pendular regime.

Electrically tunable collective response in a coupled micromechanical array [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We employ optical diffraction to study the mechanical properties of a grating array of suspended doubly clamped beams made of Au. The device allows application of electrostatic coupling between the beams that gives rise to formation of a band of normal ...

Multi-scale Modeling and Parameter Analysis of Cement-based Materials Based on Micromechanics [PDF]

open access: yes长江科学院院报
[Objective] Current micromechanical models pay limited attention to parameter uncertainty and interactions, which makes it difficult for their response results to reflect the dispersed nature of the properties of cement-based materials.
