MATHEMATICAL MODEL OF RR-TYPE MICROMECHANICAL GYRO CAPACITIVE COMB-TYPE SENSORS WITH ACCOUNT FOR VIBRATIONS [PDF]
Subject of Research. The reasons for subharmonic resonances in RR-type micromechanical gyro output under linear vibrations are investigated. In ideal case, this type of gyro should be insensitive to this kind of impact due to primary and secondary angular

We introduce a molecular strategy to assemble one‐dimensional (1D) materials into two‐dimensional (2D) van der Waals metal–organic frameworks (MOFs). Crystals of [FeX(pzX)(bpy)] (X = Cl, F) form anisotropic 2D layers that can be mechanically exfoliated into thin sheets.

It is well known that classical constitutive models fail to capture the post-peak material behaviour, due to localisation of deformation. In such cases the concept of Representative Volume Element (RVE) on which classical continuum models rest ceases to ...

Experiment and theory in the Casimir effect [PDF]
Casimir effect is the attractive force which acts between two plane parallel, closely spaced, uncharged, metallic plates in vacuum. This phenomenon was predicted theoretically in 1948 and reliably investigated experimentally only in recent years. In fact,

Spin crossover composite filaments are implemented for the rational design of 4D‐printed mechanical metamaterials. The obtained bi‐material structures guided by a theoretical analysis based on analytical calculations and Finite Element Analysis simulations exhibit giant programmable positive or negative deformation with coefficients of thermal ...

: One of the principal challenges currently facing those who use simulations based on the discrete element method is to calibrate the micromechanical parameters of a contact model with the necessary degree of accuracy.

Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

Micromechanical modelling of ferroelectrics
The wide range of applications of ferroelectrics is matched by an equally wide range of modelling approaches. This article reviews recent micromechanical models of ferroelectric switching. The development of models is traced, from discrete switching models that neglect grain-to-grain interaction, through to incremental switching models that account for

Theoretical and numerical investigation on internal instability phenomena in composite materials [PDF]
Instability phenomena occurring in the microstructure of composite materials are investigated. To this aim, a complete description of the mechanical behavior of bi-material interfaces in composite materials requires the definition of both a cohesive ...
