Microcracks closure effects in initially orthotropic materials [PDF]
Microcracking is one of the basic mechanisms of inelastic deformation for a large class of anisotropic materials such as brittle matrix composites. Even at fixed microcracks density, the macroscopic behavior of these materials is very complex due to the ...

A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

A Lightweight Procedural Layer for Hybrid Experimental–Computational Workflows in Materials Science
We unveil a prototype hybrid‐workflow framework that fuses automatedcomputation with hands‐on experiments. Built atop pyiron, a lightweight, parameterized layer translates procedure descriptions into executable manual steps, syncing instrument settings, human interventions, and data capture in real‐time today.

Gallium Arsenide micromechanics. A comparison to Silicon and Quartz [PDF]
The review compares GaAs micromechanics to silicon and quartz. It is shown that in micromechanics, GaAs combines the advantages of both silicon and quart. Like silicon it is semiconducting and it is possible to do advanced micromachining in GaAs.
