Pre-filed testimony in support of the ten persons group by Nathan G. Phillips [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
I have two interrelated technical concerns with the Enbridge Model used by MassDEP to grant the air permit for the proposed Weymouth, which invalidate the air permit. I state these immediately below and elaborate on them thereafter.

Permafrost Table Temperature (2008–2021) in Deception Island, Antarctica

open access: yesGeoscience Data Journal, Volume 12, Issue 3, July 2025.
Ground temperature at the active layer—permafrost limit is relevant to capture the possible degradation of frozen ground. Between 2008 and 2021, data at 50 cm depth have been collected every 3 h at 16 nodes of an Antarctic CALM site on Deception Island.

Aplicação do algoritmo S-SEBI na obtenção da evapotranspiração diária em condições áridas Application of the S-SEBI algorithm to obtain the daily evapotranspiration in arid conditions

Near‐Surface Air Temperature Profile in Maritime Antarctica (2006–2023)

open access: yesGeoscience Data Journal, Volume 12, Issue 3, July 2025.
Near‐surface air temperature has multiple applications, from micrometeorology to remote sensing. Between 2006 and 2023, data have been collected up to 160 cm above ground at various points on the Livingston and Deception Islands of Antarctica, where environmental conditions are complex and add even more value to these datasets.

Experimental Characterization of Optical Turbulence Using Custom-Built Atmospheric Chamber for FSO Applications

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society
Free-space optical (FSO) communication has emerged as a promising solution for high-speed, high-bandwidth wireless transmission, overcoming the spectrum congestion and licensing constraints associated with radio frequency (RF) systems.

Shaping Interconnected Geography in Central and Eastern European Academia—Key Research Challenges for the Future

open access: yesGeo: Geography and Environment, Volume 12, Issue 2, July‐December 2025.
Short Abstract Central and Eastern European geography, shaped by its historical hybridity and deep entanglement of natural and social sciences, offers a distinctive lens for rethinking disciplinary unity. By examining the current post‐transitional state of the field and four major thematic arenas, ranging from migration and the green transition to ...

canN2Onet—a Canadian nitrous oxide collaboration network to meet greenhouse gas emission reduction targets

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters
The application of nitrogen (N) fertilizer to agricultural soils results in the emission of nitrous oxide (N _2 O), accounting for ∼40% of Canada’s and 10% of global agricultural greenhouse gas emissions.

Evapotranspiration Estimation Using Micrometeorological Techniques [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Accurate evapotranspiration, ET, data are crucial for irrigation management projects, especially in drought prone regions. Evapotranspiration rates can be estimated by micrometeorological methods and the energy balance equation, soil depletion techniques, mass exchange methods, or by using weighting lysimeters.

Anaerobic Digester Installation Significantly Reduces Liquid Manure Management CH4 Emissions at a California Dairy Farm

open access: yesGCB Bioenergy, Volume 17, Issue 7, July 2025.
Anaerobic digestion is the primary mitigation strategy for methane emissions from liquid manure management on California dairies. However, verification of the effectiveness of anaerobic digesters to reduce methane emissions has not been conducted at scale.
