Hierarchical Strain‐Modified Medium‐Entropy Carbide Ceramics Exhibit Exceptional Ablation Resistance up to 2400°C

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 19, 2 April 2026.
A novel strategy is developed by doping reduced graphene oxide (rGO) into a (HfZrTi)C medium‐entropy ceramic. This induces a hierarchical strain modification mechanism, synergistically inhibiting crack propagation at the microscale and dissipating stress at the mesoscale.

The pore space arrangement in podzolic horizons of loamy soils (analysis of 2D AND 3D images)

open access: yesБюллетень Почвенного института им. В.В. Докучаева, 2013
A comparative analysis of 2D (in thin sections) and 3D (X-ray CT) images allowed obtaining new data about the pore space arrangement in the EL horizon of soddy podzolic soils.

Supraspinatus Tendon Thickness Is Associated With Collagen Disorganization in Symptomatic and Asymptomatic Shoulders of Individuals With Unilateral Rotator Cuff Tendinopathy

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Research, Volume 44, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Rotator cuff (RC) tendinopathy is a common source of shoulder pain and is frequently linked to structural changes in the supraspinatus tendon of greater thickness and disrupted collagen organization. This study aimed to characterize differences in tendon thickness and collagen organization between individuals with unilateral symptomatic RC ...

First Report of Ophiostoma clavatum and Fusarium verticillioides Associated With Ips acuminatus‐Infested Scots Pine in Western Ukraine

open access: yesPlant-Environment Interactions, Volume 7, Issue 2, April 2026.
This study provides the first record of Ophiostoma clavatum associated with Ips acuminatus in Ukraine, and the first evidence of Fusarium verticillioides coexisting with ophiostomatoid fungi in infested Scots pines. This fungal association may contribute to the decline of Scots pine stands.

Electrospinning Synthesized Cd0.3Zn0.7S@PVDF/PAN Piezoelectric Nanofiber Membrane for Efficient Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Photocatalytic hydrogen evolution technology is a crucial approach to achieve efficient solar energy conversion and green hydrogen production. However, traditional semiconductor photocatalysts often face issues such as weak visible‐light response, high photogenerated charge carrier recombination, and poor structural stability, severely ...

Edge‐Fluorinated Flower‐Like Porous Graphene Microspheres With Enlarged Interlayer Spacing for High‐Performance Potassium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT The utilization of carbonaceous anodes in electrochemical systems, particularly potassium‐ion batteries (PIBs), remains hindered by sluggish kinetics and modest capacities, which are caused by the intrinsic ion storage mechanisms and constrained interlayer spacings.
