Toward Pore‐Engineered 3D‐Printed Materials for Sorption Water Harvesting, Interfacial Evaporation, and Radiative Cooling

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Water harvesting, radiative cooling, and interfacial solar evaporation are fundamentally governed by coupled heat, mass, and light transport processes. These processes are mediated by pore architecture, including pore size, connectivity, and hierarchical organization.

Effects of micronization, tempering, and flaking on the chemical characteristics of wheat and its feeding value for broiler chicks

open access: yes, 2003
Five experiments were conducted to study the effects of micronizing, tempering and flaking of wheat (cv. Genesis) on the chemical characteristics and its feeding value for broiler chicks.

Self‐Assembling Copolymers Encapsulating Single Endothelial Cells Induce Endogenous ECM Deposition and Vascular Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents the first demonstration of stable sub‐50‐micron single‐cell GPM vesicles fabricated through the intrinsic self‐assembly of an amphiphilic copolymer. Hierarchical assembly of cell containing GPM vesicles into microspheres enable tunable, sustained cell delivery with immune protection.

Current‐Induced Domain Wall Dynamics in Pt/Co/Ni/Co Nanoribbons With Curvilinear Cross‐Sections

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
3D curvilinear magnetic racetrack nanoribbons are formed with concave and convex cross‐sections using an advanced multi‐photon 3D printer. The curvature is shown to strongly affect current‐induced domain wall motion along the nanoribbons. In nanoribbons with cross‐sections that have both concave and convex segments, the velocities of domain walls with ...

Solubility and Micronization of Ganciclovir

open access: yes, 2011
Ganciclovir (GCV) is only slightly soluble in water and hence oral GCV gives low absolute bioavailability. Liquid precipitation is an effective way to prepare micro-sized drug particles. The solubility of GCV in several solvents or in aqueous solution at

Inductively Expandable Supraparticles as Microscopic Force Generators for Remote Mechanical Actuation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates the combination of magnetic nanoparticles and functional blowing agents into supraparticles. Upon induction heating, they actuate via rapid gas generation or extensive volume expansion. These supraparticles lift up to 25 000 times their own mass and rapidly open cured epoxy resins, providing a versatile strategy for fast micron ...

Microgels Enable iPSCs to Assemble, Expand, and Differentiate Into Organoids—From Sizable to High‐Throughput

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A chemically defined PEG‐based microgel platform enables scalable, reproducible production of three‐dimensional microgel‐iPSC constructs in multiple sizes. The system is compatible with high‐throughput automation and supports human iPSC expansion and differentiation within a single construct, including directed differentiation into cardiac organoids ...

The Effect of Micronization of Full-Fat Canola Seed on Digestion in the Rumen and Total Tract of Dairy Cows

open access: yes, 1997
The effect of micronization of full-fat canola seed on dry matter disappearance (DMD) and total nitrogen disappearance (TND) in the rumen and intestine were investigated. Full-fat canola seed was left untreated (C) or micronized for 1.5 min (M), and left

A Thermoreversible Gelation Pathway to Plant Cuticle‐Inspired Biopolymer Aerogel Monoliths Based on Network‐Spherulitic Crystal Assemblies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
To address functionality limitations in plant‐based and industrially compostable polymer aerogels, this work introduces bio‐inspired aerogels with broadened functionality. Inspired by functional plant tissues, lightweight biopolymer aerogels based on exclusively stereocomplex crystals are fabricated, featuring hierarchically macro‐/meso‐porous ...

Fabrication of Aligned Polycaprolactone Nanofibrillar Bundles to Control Cell‐Mediated Collagen Deposition in Engineered Cartilage

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Melt electrofibrillation (MEF) enables the fabrication of nanofibrillar PCL scaffolds with defined architectures that guide cellular alignment and retention during cartilage tissue engineering. Unlike conventional melt electrowriting, MEF consistently directs collagen type II‐rich extracellular matrix organization, providing a tunable platform to ...
