3D printed freeform micro-optics meets generated Jacobian equations based inverse designs [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the European Optical Society-Rapid Publications
In this work, we explore the use of Generated Jacobian Equations (GJEs) for the inverse design of freeform micro-optical surfaces. We demonstrate the integration of this design technique into an applied pipeline targeting 3D printed freeform micro-optics

Targeted Microforming of Borosilicate Glass Induced by a Laser‐Ablation‐Free Process Using Femtosecond Pulses

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 11, Issue 33, November 25, 2024.
The study investigates the possibilities of targeted ablation‐free microforming of borosilicate glass using ultrashort pulsed laser radiation. The results show that characteristic “peak‐valley” structures with a profile height of up to 10 µm can be produced on the top and bottom side of 1 mm thick glass substrates.

Histamine in the neocortex: Towards integrating multiscale effectors

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neuroscience, Volume 60, Issue 4, Page 4597-4623, August 2024.
Histaminergic axons project to different parts of the brain, including the neocortex and innervate the different neocortical layers at varying extents and modulate depending on the layer‐specific expression patterns of the different histamine receptor subtypes.
