Micropolar viscoelastic waves

International Journal of Engineering Science, 1969
Abstract The propagation conditions and growth equations, which govern the propagation of waves in micropolar viscoelasticity, are derived and discussed. The couplings between the discontinuities in the macroscopic and microscopic fields are studied.

The Micropolar Thermoelasticity

1974
Thermoelasticity investigates the. interaction of the field of deformation with the field of temperature and combines, on the basis of the thermodynamics of the irreversible processes, two separately developing branches of science, namely the theory of elasticity and the theory of heat conduction.

Noncentrosymmetry in micropolar elasticity

International Journal of Engineering Science, 1982
Abstract Consequences of noncentrosymmetry in a micropolar elastic solid are considered. A solid which is isotropic with respect to coordinate rotations but not with respect to inversions, has three new elastic constants in addition to the six considered in the fully isotropic micropolar solid.

Micropolar and dipolar fluids

International Journal of Engineering Science, 1968
Abstract The theories of micropolar and dipolar fluids have been reviewed briefly and application of these theories to the problem of Poiseuille flow in a circular channel is discussed.

Nonlinear Micropolar Elasticity

1974
The Cosserat continuum is a material continuum with “points” which may rotate independently of the displacements. A better interpretation of this continuum is offered through the assignment of rigid triads of vectors to the points, and admitting the triads to rotate independently of the points of the medium.

Micropolar Theory of Flexoelectricity

Journal of Advanced Mathematics and Applications, 2012
The invalidities, including (i) the property of continuity and (ii) the irreversibility of thermodynamics, are investigated when characterizing flexoelectricity with classical continuum approach and Clausius-Duhem inequality. To avoid the invalidities, Micropolar field theory is introduced.
