Regulation of FGF2-induced proliferation by inhibitory GPCR in normal pituitary cells

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2023
IntroductionIntracellular communication is essential for the maintenance of the anterior pituitary gland plasticity. The aim of this study was to evaluate whether GPCR-Gαi modulates basic fibroblast growth factor (FGF2)-induced proliferative activity in ...

Lectin‐Modified Screen‐Printed Carbon Electrodes (SPE) for the Electrochemical Detection of Transferrin

open access: yesElectroanalysis, Volume 38, Issue 4, April 2026.
We developed an impedimetric biosensor by electrochemically oxidizing screen‐printed carbon electrodes, allowing the covalent immobilization of Concanavalin A for selective holotransferrin detection. After the target protein is captured, the device monitors changes in charge–transfer resistance using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.

Kisspeptin Restores Placental mTOR Signaling and Improves Glucose Homeostasis Mediators Disrupted by Maternal Hypothyroidism in Rats

open access: yesActa Physiologica, Volume 242, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim Reduced placental mTOR signaling is associated with intrauterine growth restriction and impaired maternal and placental metabolism. Since maternal hypothyroidism induces intrauterine growth restriction, and maternal treatment with kisspeptin‐10 (Kp10) has been shown to improve feto‐placental development in hypothyroid rats, this study ...

E-cadherin expression pattern during zebrafish embryonic epidermis development [version 3; referees: 2 approved, 1 approved with reservations]

open access: yesF1000Research, 2019
Background: E-cadherin is the major adhesion receptor in epithelial adherens junctions (AJs). On established epidermis, E-cadherin performs fine-tuned cell-cell contact remodeling to maintain tissue integrity, which is characterized by modulation of cell

A new genus and species of Heligmonellidae (Nematoda: Trichostrongylina) parasitic in Delomys dorsalis (Rodentia: Sigmodontinae) from Misiones, Argentina [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Alippistrongylus bicaudatus gen. et sp. n. (Nematoda: Heligmonellidae) is described from the striped Atlantic forest rat, Delomys dorsalis (Hensel) (Rodentia: Sigmodontinae), from the province of Misiones in Argentina.

Latitudinal Clines in Gene Flow and Demographic Stability Reveal Drivers of Microendemism in a Radiation of Alpine Grasshoppers

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, Volume 35, Issue 7, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Understanding the geological, ecological, and microevolutionary processes that shape range size in alpine organisms is key to explaining the high rates of local endemism that characterise mountain ecosystems. Here, we investigate the geography of speciation in Oropodisma, a radiation of alpine grasshoppers from the Balkan Peninsula that ...
