Effect of High‐Intensity Ultrasound on Structural and Functional Properties of Buttermilk and Its Application in Ice Cream

open access: yesJournal of Food Processing and Preservation, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Buttermilk, a by‐product of butter manufacturing, is rich in proteins and milk fat globule membrane (MFGM) components with valuable techno‐functional properties; however, it remains underutilized in the dairy industry. This study investigated the impact of high‐intensity ultrasound (HIUS, 20 kHz) on the structural and functional properties of ...

Evolving Platinum‐Copper Nanostructures for Enhanced Photothermal Therapy and Controlled Copper Release in Cancer Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 52, December 23, 2025.
Platinum‐Copper bimetallic nanoparticles may evolve depending on their synthesis under tumor microenvironment conditions and play a dual role as chemotherapeutic agents after releasing Cu ions and as near infrared photothermal agents with the Pt‐rich remaining frames.

Novel CYFIP2 Frameshift Variant Linked to Dyskinetic Crises: Functional Studies Show Impaired Cell Motility

open access: yesClinical Genetics, Volume 108, Issue 6, Page 708-712, December 2025.
We describe a novel CYFIP2 frameshift variant linked to dyskinetic crises. Functional studies in patient‐derived fibroblasts reveal impaired actin cytoskeleton regulation and reduced cell motility, supporting a pathogenic role for CYFIP2 in movement disorders.

Starch‐Based Scaffolds for Cultivated Meat Production: Challenges and Perspectives

open access: yesComprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety, Volume 24, Issue 6, November 2025.
ABSTRACT The advancement of cultured meat depends on the development of structures that combine biological compatibility, edibility, sensory acceptance, and large‐scale feasibility. In this context, starch emerges as an abundant, low‐cost, and food‐grade biopolymer, uniquely positioned for applications in food systems.
