Influence of Gemini Surfactants on Biochemical Profile and Ultrastructure of Aspergillus brasiliensis

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
In this study, we investigated the activities of hexamethylene-1,6-bis-(N,N-dimethyl-N-dodecylammonium bromide) (C6), pentamethylene-1,5-bis-(N,N-dimethyl-N-dodecylammonium bromide) (C5), and their two neutral analogues: hexamethylene-1,6-bis-(N-methyl-N-

Microscopic Muscle Image Enhancement

open access: yesCoRR, 2016
We propose a robust image enhancement algorithm dedicated for muscle fiber specimen images captured by optical microscopes. Blur or out of focus problems are prevalent in muscle images during the image acquisition stage. Traditional image deconvolution methods do not work since they assume the blur kernels are known and also produce ring artifacts.

Super-Resolution Correlative Light and Electron Microscopy (SR-CLEM) Reveals Novel Ultrastructural Insights Into Dendritic Cell Podosomes

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2018
Podosomes are multimolecular cytoskeletal structures that coordinate the migration of tissue-resident dendritic cells (DCs). They consist of a protrusive actin-rich core and an adhesive integrin-rich ring that contains adaptor proteins such as vinculin ...

Oral squamous cell carcinoma detection using EfficientNet on histopathological images

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine
IntroductionOral Squamous Cell Carcinoma (OSCC) poses a significant challenge in oncology due to the absence of precise diagnostic tools, leading to delays in identifying the condition. Current diagnostic methods for OSCC have limitations in accuracy and

Imaging acoustic waves in microscopic wedges

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2014
Using an ultrafast optical technique we image near-gigahertz flexural acoustic waves propagating in a thin gold wedge deposited on an ultrathin silicon nitride slab.
