Potential of organogel‐based colloidal hydrogels for new cosmetic formulations

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, EarlyView.
Colloidal hydrogels are formed by combining anionic, cationic, or nonionic surfactants with two oils of cosmetic interest: sweet almond oil and phytosqualane. These systems are obtained through hot emulsification followed by cooling, which leads to the aggregation of gel‐like particles.

Bio‐active designed peptide for hair keratin strengthening

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, EarlyView.
Bioactive tripeptides through in silico screening revealed KCV (Tripeptide‐132) as the most promising keratin‐targeting candidate. Experimental studies confirmed its superior hair‐strengthening performance with 44% tensile strength enhancement, 50% breakage reduction, improved surface integrity and fibre penetration.

CRISPR‐induced knockouts reveal a dual role for the soybean NFR5α gene in symbiotic nitrogen fixation and root hair development

open access: yesThe Plant Genome, Volume 19, Issue 1, March 2026.
Abstract Nitrogen fixation in soybeans, facilitated by symbiotic interactions with rhizobia, is a cornerstone of sustainable agriculture, reducing reliance on synthetic fertilizers. However, the efficiency of symbiotic nitrogen fixation (SNF) varies due to natural genetic variation in SNF‐related genes.

Galactomyces ferment filtrate upregulates anchoring junctions and stabilizes actin to maintain the Young's modulus of skin cells in vitro

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, Volume 48, Issue 1, Page 16-29, February 2026.
Ageing causes actin cytoskeleton disorganization, a reduction in cellular components associated with the actin cytoskeleton and focal adhesions, and a reduction in skin firmness. Galactomyces ferment filtrate boosts actin stability, increases expression of anchoring junction proteins, including focal adhesions and protects against loss of firmness ...

Extremely Long Nanoribbons Comparable to Gecko Foot by Soft‐Template Electropolymerization From Triphenylamine‐Based Monomers

open access: yesNano Select, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2026.
Extremely long nanoribbons are formed by soft‐template electropolymerization in micellar condition, especially with the monomer with the longest conjugation system (N‐m‐Ph‐p‐diPh‐Cb). These surfaces with nanoribbons are extremely hydrophobic (θw = 131.8°) but with extremely strong water adhesion comparable to gecko foot.

3D Petro‐Structural Evolution of the High Pressure‐Low Temperature Phyllite‐Quartzite Nappe Pile in Southern Peloponnese, Greece

open access: yesTectonics, Volume 44, Issue 12, December 2025.
Abstract Tectonic underplating of high‐pressure/low‐temperature (HP‐LT) tectonic slices is a key mechanism in crustal growth at convergent margins. Yet, the processes controlling the geometry, depth and sequence of underplating events remain poorly constrained.
