Atomic Force Microscopy Imaging and Force Spectroscopy of Supported Lipid Bilayers
Atomic force microscopy (AFM) is a versatile, high-resolution imaging technique that allows visualization of biological membranes. It has sufficient magnification to examine membrane substructures and even individual molecules.

Creating Ti–Fe α/β Alloys by Diffusion‐Driven Solid‐State Processing
This study proposes making alloys containing fast diffusing elements that are difficult to produce by ingot metallurgy, by diffusion‐driven solid‐state HIP processing of elemental powders and low‐temperature homogenisation. Here, novel Fe‐Ti α–β alloys are formed having fine α–β lamellae, a small β prior grain size without significant intermetallics ...

Scanning speed phenomenon in contact-resonance atomic force microscopy
This work presents data confirming the existence of a scan speed related phenomenon in contact-mode atomic force microscopy (AFM). Specifically, contact-resonance spectroscopy is used to interrogate this phenomenon.

Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.

Optomechanical damping of a microcantilever force sensor in liquid [PDF]
A new instrument, constant deflection atomic force microscopy (CD-AFM) constructed to perform force spectroscopy measurements without mechanical instabilities associated with the use of soft AFM cantilevers has been developed, tested and calibrated ...
