Ant Damage to Microsprinkler Pulsator Assemblies
Applied Engineering in Agriculture, 1995A field experiment was conducted to determine the effectiveness of two microsprinkler pulsator designs in preventing ant damage to the assemblies. The original pulsator case design used 2.5 mm (0.10 in.) diameter circular vent holes located near the top and bottom of the case. The alternative case design (ant-bar) had four pairs of vent slots which had

Analysis of Trickle and Pulse Microsprinkler Irrigation of Processing Apples
International Journal of Fruit Science, 1999Abstract This study examined the effects of wetted area size on yield and growth of ‘Golden Delicious’ apples for processing by comparing a trickle irrigation system with a pulse microsprinkler system, each receiving the same level of water application.

MICROSPRINKLER IRRIGATION FOR FROST PROTECTION OF CITRUS IN FLORIDA
Acta Horticulturae, 2015In 1979, it was not known if microsprinkler irrigation could provide any frost protection for citrus, and some assumed that this irrigation method would not. Tests during freezes between 1980 and 2010 showed that microsprinklers were effective in protecting the lower 0.9 m of young citrus trees, thereby saving the bud union and allowing later regrowth.

Current Status of Microsprinkler Irrigation in the United States
Applied Engineering in Agriculture, 2012Microsprinkler irrigation is often the preferred method of irrigation for tree and vine crops since it provides a greater degree of freeze protection than drip irrigation and provides water and energy savings over sprinkler and flood irrigation methods.

Louisiana citrus frost protection with enclosures and microsprinklers
Agricultural and Forest Meteorology, 1992Abstract Recent major citrus freeze damage in Louisiana prompted expanded research in frost protection methods. Tests with tree enclosures and water and protection of the tree trunk and main scaffold limbs with water were initiated in 1987 and 1988 and data were taken during the Christmas freeze of 1989. The morning low air temperature was below −8°C

Optimization of Irrigation for Potato with Microsprinkler Irrigation System
Journal of Agricultural Engineering (India), 2008Water application for agriculture in semi-arid areas should be limited because of scare resources. An effort was made at Central Institute of Post Harvest Engineering and Technology, Abohar to determine the optimal water allocation to potato crop with micro sprinkler irrigation system.

Control of individual microsprinklers and fault detection strategies
Precision Agriculture, 2006Based on yield variability in orchards, it is evident that many trees receive too much or too little water and fertilizer under uniform management. Optimizing water and nutrient management based on the demand of individual trees could result in improved yield and environmental quality. A microsprinkler sensor and control system was developed to provide

Publisher Summary Micro-sprinkler systems are primarily used to irrigate tree and vine crops. The system designs are similar to other micro-irrigation systems, but micro-sprinkler systems generally tend to require a higher flowrate per unit area. Typically micro-sprinkler installations have one 40 to75 L/h flowrate emitter per tree.
