A folded microstrip antenna is proposed to reduce the ground plane size required for efficient radiation, thus making the antenna more compact. The paper shows the quarter-wavelength folded microstrip antenna. The backside of a conventional microstrip antenna is used as a ground plane of the proposed antenna.

Microstrip antennas usually require a ground plane that is much larger than the radiating patch. To make a microstrip antenna compact, it is essential to reduce the size of the ground plane. In this paper, it is shown that the ground plane becomes substantially smaller than that of a conventional microstrip antenna with similar radiation ...

This paper deals with a microstrip antenna that has a spiral geometry rectangular form. This antenna form is based on the analysis of a spiral monopole. Through such configuration, it is possible to obtain a wider bandwidth operation. In addition, a considerable bandwidth in this type of microstrip is verified.

Planar, directive, X band antennas were constructed with wide microstrips printed on phainolic paper substrates. Every microstrip functions as a cavity with loses due to radiation from the slots formed between their wide edjes and the earth plane. A number of approximations, mentioned below, form the theory of their opperation. A way is given to cancel

Rectangular Microstrip Antennas
2009The two analysis methods for rectangular microstrip antennas which are most popular for CAD implementation are the transmission line model and the cavity model. In this section the author will address the least complex version of the transmission line model. The popularity of the transmission line model may be gauged by the number of extensions to this
