Quality measurements of an UWB reduced-size CPW-fed aperture antenna [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The paper presents a characterization of a compact co-planar waveguide (CPW)-fed slot loaded low return loss planar printed antenna designed for wireless communication and ultra-wideband (UWB) applications. Following a review of the antenna design, which

Photonic Time Crystals and Time‐Varying Electromagnetic Metamatter: A New Direction for Ultrafast Tunable Photonic and Microwave Materials and Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Photonic time crystals (PTCs) are systems in which electromagnetic parameters are modulated periodically in time, producing momentum bandgaps via temporal scattering rather than spatial Bragg processes. This review examines the theoretical frameworks, modeling, and computational tools for time‐varying media, and summarizes experimental demonstrations ...

Mixed-Potential Integral Equation Based Characteristic Mode Analysis of Microstrip Antennas

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2016
A characteristic mode (CM) formulation is developed for the modal analysis of microstrip antennas. It is derived from the mixed-potential integral equation (MPIE) with spatial-domain Green’s functions for multilayered media, where spatial-domain Green’s ...

Development of compact circular polarized antenna for WLAN application [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Matching the polarization in both the transmitter and receiver antennas is important in terms of decreasing transmission losses. The use of circularly polarized antennas presents an attractive solution to achieve this polarization match which allows for ...

The treatment of geometrically small structures in FDTD by the modification of assigned material parameters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
A number of different improvements to the analysis by finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) of small structures, such as wires, strips and slots have been proposed in the literature.

Printable Liquid Metal‐Textiles for Deformation‐Insensitive and Electromagnetically Robust mmWave Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We present a textile‐compatible, self‐healing liquid metal ink and a dual‐mask printing technique for high‐resolution patterning. Using this approach, we demonstrate high‐performance millimeter‐wave (mmWave) electronic textiles that exhibit exceptional insensitivity to deformation.

Analysis of an air-spaced patch antenna near 1800 MHz [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Microstrip antennas are a type of printed antenna which consists of a patch on top of a grounded substrate. A major limitation for the performance of the patch antenna is the dielectric substrate.

Hierarchical Reconfigurable Metasurface Based on Scenario‐Guided Functional Modules and Programmable Core

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This paper proposes a hierarchical reconfigurable metasurface architecture (HRMA) to achieve comprehensive electromagnetic parameter modulation and on‐demand polymorphic function switching. The reconfigurable metasurface is divided into a programmable core (PC) and scenario‐guided functional modules (FMs), exhibiting significant flexibility and ...

Bow-Tie Microstrip Antenna Design [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
In this paper, the bow-tie microstrip antennas have been designed with two different angles of 40° and 80°. An investigaton on the effect of the angle to the return loss and radiation patterns had been carried out.
