A Scalable and Integrated Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, Volume 12, Issue 1, 7 January 2026.
A scalable X‐band reconfigurable intelligent surface is presented using one‐bit phase‐tunable unit cells with integrated FPGA control. The RIS supports fast, high‐speed reconfiguration through WiFi, LAN, and USB interfaces and can be scaled to multiple tiles. The design achieves over 20 dBi broadside gain and reliable 2D beam steering in both elevation

Modelling of a microstrip patch antenna using a hybrid FDTD/PEEC method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A hybrid technique combining FDTD and PEEC methods is applied to the prediction of radiation from printed structures. The predicted radiation patterns of a microstrip patch antenna are compared to those obtained using FDTD.A hybrid technique combining ...

Varactor-Tuned Dual-Mode Frequency Discriminator for Instantaneous Frequency Measurements [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper a novel varactor-tuned frequency discriminator that makes use of two tunable dual-mode microstrip resonators is demonstrated which doubles the discriminator tuning bandwidth.

The rigorous analysis of strongly coupled step discontinuities in microstrip [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
A rigorous analysis of boxed microstrip single-step discontinuities and cascades of strongly coupled discontinuities is presented. Use is made of a variational formulation involving the expansion of the transverse E field at the step in terms of suitable

Wide bandwidth microstrip antennas for circuit integration

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1979
Novel multilayer concepts for the formation of efficient micro-strip antennas on alumina substrates that allow simple antenna/circuit integration to be achieved are described. Experimental results show that, by using these techniques, bandwidth in excess of 16 times those of alumina microstrip antennas can be obtained, at the expense of an increase in ...

A Compact and Wideband Coupled-Line Coupler with High Coupling Level Using Shunt Periodic Stubs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A wideband microstrip forward-wave coupled-line coupler with high coupling value is presented. Compared with the conventional edge-coupled microstrip forward-wave coupler, this symmetrical structure, consisting periodic shunt stubs between the two ...

Time domain response of corrugated transmission lines

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation
In order to employ periodic corrugated microstrip lines for reducing or suppressing electromagnetic interference in high‐speed or high‐frequency circuits, a precise method is necessary to calculate and measure the characteristic impedance of periodic ...

Circuit Modelling of Bandpass/Channel Filter with Microstrip Implementation

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (IJEEI), 2020
This paper presents a step-by-step approach to the design of bandpass/channel filters. A 3-pole Chebyshev bandpass filter (BPF) with centre frequency of 2.6 GHz, fractional bandwidth of 3%, passband ripple of 0.04321 dB and return loss of 20 dB has been designed, implemented, and simulated.

Application of a simplified probe feed impedance formula to the design of a dual frequency patch antenna [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A simplified probe feed input impedance for a rectangular patch antenna based on the Green's function is used to design a dual frequency matched antenna.

Electronically Controlled Impedance Tuner for 5.8 GHz Band

open access: yesIEEE Access
In this paper, a single-port impedance tuning network is proposed. The presented circuit allows for electronic programming of the reflection coefficient over a broad range, covering the entire unit circle, making the network well-suited as a reference ...
