Bandwidth enhancement for microstrip patch antenna using stacked patch and slot

open access: yes, 2009
Small size wideband microstrip patch antenna with slot in ground plane and stacked patch fed through microstrip line is presented. By inserting slot on ground plane and stacked patch supported by wall, the bandwidth can improve up to 25% without ...

A Novel UWB Pulse Expander Using an Integrated Microstrip Splitter, Delay Lines, and a Combiner

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Passive pulse shaping at frequencies above 1 GHz is mainly achieved through frequency-domain processing using filters. Unfortunately, the conventional frequency domain approach does not allow precise control of the impulse response of the filter ...

Analytical Method to Estimate the Complex Permittivity of Oil Samples

open access: yesSensors, 2018
In this paper, an analytical method to estimate the complex dielectric constant of liquids is presented. The method is based on the measurement of the transmission coefficient in an embedded microstrip line loaded with a complementary split ring ...

Multimode and Multiband Microstrip Antennas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This thesis describes original work on the broadband and multiband matching of microstrip patch antennas. Microstrip patch antennas suffer from many constraints on their performance. One major restriction is their narrow impedance bandwidth.

Multi-Resonant Slotted Microstrip Patch Antenna Array with PIN Diode Configuration for 5G Application

open access: yesZanco Journal of Pure and Applied Sciences, 2022
The fifth generation (5G) applications require the components of the wireless communication systems to operate at large frequency ranges. This is to increase the data rate capability and reduce the network traffic in the systems. Therefore, the main

Coplanar and microstrip oscillators in SiGe SIMMWIC technology [PDF]

open access: yes2001 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Sympsoium Digest (Cat. No.01CH37157), 2002
Oscillators in SiGe SIMMWIC HBT technology have been realized in coplanar and a newly developed microstrip environment. Coplanar 24 GHz LC oscillators show 8.7 dBm output power and a phase noise of -99 dBc/Hz @ 100 kHz offset. Coplanar 27 GHz VCO's yield 12.5 dBm output power and a tuning range of 1.28 GHz.

Photonic Time Crystals and Time‐Varying Electromagnetic Metamatter: A New Direction for Ultrafast Tunable Photonic and Microwave Materials and Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Photonic time crystals (PTCs) are systems in which electromagnetic parameters are modulated periodically in time, producing momentum bandgaps via temporal scattering rather than spatial Bragg processes. This review examines the theoretical frameworks, modeling, and computational tools for time‐varying media, and summarizes experimental demonstrations ...
