Compact defected ground structure in microstrip technology

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2005
A meander microstrip line with defected ground structure is proposed. Its radiation loss and slow-wave effect are evaluated. The compact configuration presents broad stopband and improved slow-wave characteristics. A good agreement between simulation and measurement verifies the designed circuit.

Optical‐controlled magnon transport based on spin crossover switched molecular magnets

open access: yesSmart Molecules, EarlyView.
A cyanide‐bridged W(V)–Fe(II) spin‐crossover single crystal was integrated into a magnon transport device, enabling reversible optical control of magnon transport through photo‐switched spin states. Abstract Molecule‐based devices that combine the advantages of fast time response and extremely low manipulation/transmission energy consumption of light ...

A New Compact Wideband Filter Based on a Coupled Stepped Impedance Resonator

open access: yesMicromachines
A new compact wideband filter is introduced to address the requirements of recent communication and radar systems. The filter is based on a quarter-wavelength short-circuit coupled stepped impedance resonator (SIR). The analytical solution shows that the

Using U‐Nets to Predict the Effects of Head Motion on Simulated Specific Absorption Rate for Ultra‐High Field Magnetic Resonance Imaging With Parallel Transmission

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 2, Page 650-665, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose Ultrahigh‐field MRI requires careful management of the specific absorption rate (SAR), which is subject and subject‐position dependent. Within‐scan subject motion may exacerbate local SAR exposure, necessitating large safety margins to prevent SAR underestimation, which hampers imaging performance.

Features of the microstrip proportional counter technology (invited) [PDF]

open access: yesReview of Scientific Instruments, 1992
The microstrip proportional counter (MSPC) is a new approach in gas-filled detector technology. In contrast with the classical multiwire proportional counter (MWPC) detectors, the electrodes of the MSPC are deposited by photolithographic techniques onto a rigid substrate. The technique offers many important advantages: An optimal energy resolution; The

Time‐Domain Simulator for Nonuniform Transmission Lines: An Educational Tool

open access: yesComputer Applications in Engineering Education, Volume 34, Issue 4, July 2026.
ABSTRACT The study of transmission lines is a key topic in electrical and electronic engineering education. However, their theoretical formulation can be complex, often hindering students' understanding of the underlying physical phenomena. In contrast, transmission lines exhibit intuitive and engaging behaviors. To address this challenge, we developed

A Review of Black Phosphorus‐Based Materials: From Preparation Strategies to Characterization Techniques

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, Volume 9, Issue 4, July 2026.
The structure, properties, preparation methods, and characterization techniques of BP. As a typical 2D layered material, black phosphorus (BP) demonstrates exceptional promise in various fields, particularly in energy storage for alkali metal‐ion batteries. However, its distinctive structure and properties, together with the compositional complexity of
