The Microstructure of Experience [PDF]
I argue that experiences can have microphenomenal structures, where the macrophenomenal properties we introspect are realized by non-introspectible microphenomenal properties.

Low‐Activation Compositionally Complex Alloys for Advanced Nuclear Applications—A Review
Low‐activation compositionally complex alloys (LACCAs) are advanced metallic materials primarily composed of low‐activation elements, offering advantages such as rapid compliance with operational standards and safe recyclability. This review highlights their potential for extreme high‐temperature irradiation environments as structural materials for ...

Effects of line defects on spin-dependent electronic transport of zigzag MoS2 nanoribbons
The nonlinear spin-dependent transport properties in zigzag molybdenum-disulfide nanoribbons (ZMNRs) with line defects are investigated systematically using nonequilibrium Green’s function method combined with density functional theory.

This study investigates the impact of Ce and/or Mg on the electrical conductivity (EC) and mechanical properties of AlSi3 cast alloy. It highlights the synergistic effects of Ce and Mg on eutectic Si modification and Mg solute reduction in the Al matrix, resulting in the optimization of EC, strength, and ductility of the alloy.

This article investigates optimal processing conditions for the laser‐based powder bed fusion of WE43. To limit the interaction with remaining oxygen, a 3 vol% hydrogen admixture to the inert gas is investigated. Furthermore, heat treatments are investigated in the range of 250–350 °C for 48 h.

Laser powder‐bed fusion (L‐PBF) can produce dense WE43 magnesium alloy parts, but their mechanical properties are limited by a nonhomogeneous microstructure. This study investigates the effects of varying direct aging (T5) and artificial age‐hardening (T6) conditions on microstructure and strength. Optimized T6 treatment significantly improves strength

On the Correlation Structure of Microstructure Noise in Theory and Practice [PDF]
We argue for incorporating the financial economics of market microstructure into the financial econometrics of asset return volatility estimation. In particular, we use market microstructure theory to derive the cross-correlation function between latent ...
