Classification of Insomnia using Cyclic Alternating patterns in Sleep microstructure

2024 46th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBC)
This work analyses the importance of sleep microstructural patterns for identifying sleep instability and arousals, which can be extremely useful to diagnose insomnia. We derived the quantitative metrics from the sleep macrostructures as well as microstructural patterns such as cyclic alternating patterns (CAP).

Ceramics overview: classification by microstructure and processing methods.

Compendium of continuing education in dentistry (Jamesburg, N.J. : 1995), 2011
The plethora of ceramic systems available today for all types of indirect restorations can be confusing--and overwhelming--for the clinician. Having a better understanding of them is key. The authors use classification systems based on the microstructural components of ceramics and the processing techniques to help illustrate the various properties and

Representation and Classification of Microstructures using Statistical Learning Techniques

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2004
Microstructural information is fundamental to determining the critical properties of today’s high performance materials. Hence, there is a need for a representation that can quantify all the microstructural elements through the analysis of digitized images.

Spinal cord microstructure-based tissue classification in cervical myelopathy

ISMRM Annual Meeting
Motivation: Degenerative cervical myelopathy (DCM) due to chronic compression is generally examined using qualitative imaging, which does not specify how tissue microstructure changes within the cord. Goal(s): To implement a clustering-based tissue classification framework to identify tissue classes in DCM spinal cord.
