Adaptive resolution of fine scales in modes of microstructured optical fibers [PDF]
An adaptive algorithm for computing eigenmodes and propagation constants of optical fibers is proposed. The algorithm is built using a dual-weighted residual error estimator. The residuals are based on the eigensystem for leaky hybrid modes obtained from Maxwell equations truncated to a finite domain after a transformation by a perfectly matched layer.

Structured Light Projection Using Image Guide Fibers for In Situ Photo‐biofabrication
Light‐based biofabrication is typically performed with single wavelength light sources and within benchtop devices. This work demonstrates FaSt‐Light (Fiber‐assisted Structured Light) as a new approach to achieve multiwavelength image projection using flexible image guide fibers, which enables a variety of applications for in situ biofabrication ...

High-temperature sensing using a hollow-core fiber with thick cladding tubes [PDF]
We report on high-temperature sensing measurements using a tubular-lattice hollow-core photonic crystal fiber displaying a microstructure formed of eight 2.4 um-thick cladding tubes. The larger thickness of our fiber's cladding tubes compared to other hollow fibers operating in the visible and infrared ranges entails multiple narrow transmission bands ...
