Numerical exploration of multi-octave spanned supercontinuum generation with high coherence in single material photonic crystal fiber [PDF]

open access: yesHeliyon
We propose a single material microstructured optical fiber with more than five octave spanning supercontinuum generation. Due to using single material, compatibility checking between core and cladding material need not required. Moreover, the material is

Soft glass based specialty optical fibers and their applications - INVITED [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2023
This paper describes a prospect for broadband mid-infrared (mid-IR) highly coherent supercontinuum generation. Tellurite and chalcogenide glass with high transparency up to the mid-IR range are used as fiber materials.

Electrically tuned whispering gallery modes microresonator based on microstructured optical fibers infiltrated with dual-frequency liquid crystals

open access: goldNanophotonics, 2018
An electrically tunable whispering gallery mode (WGM) microresonator based on an HF-etched microstructured optical fiber (MOF) infiltrated with dual-frequency liquid crystals (DFLCs) is proposed and experimentally demonstrated for the investigation of ...

Experimental study of an intensity-modulated curvature sensor with high sensitivity based on microstructured optical fiber.

open access: yesOptics Express, 2023
Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) based fiber optic curvature sensors have the advantage of being insensitive to temperature and axial strain. However, they have the disadvantage of low sensitivity and small curvature detection range.

Optical Fiber Sensors Based on Microstructured Optical Fibers to Detect Gases and Volatile Organic Compounds—A Review

open access: yesItalian National Conference on Sensors, 2020
Since the first publications related to microstructured optical fibers (MOFs), the development of optical fiber sensors (OFS) based on them has attracted the interest of many research groups because of the market niches that can take advantage of their ...

Solid microstructured optical fiber [PDF]

open access: yesOptics Express, 2003
An all-solid microstructured fiber based on two thermallymatched silicate glasses with a high index contrast has been fabricated for the first time. The microstructured cladding was shown to be essentially unchanged during fiber drawing. Fiber attenuation was measured as 5dB/m at 1.55m by the cutback method.

Supercontinuum generation in a carbon disulfide core microstructured optical fiber.

open access: yesOptics Express, 2021
We demonstrate supercontinuum generation in a liquid-core microstructured optical fiber using carbon disulfide as the core material. The fiber provides a specific dispersion landscape with a zero-dispersion wavelength approaching the telecommunication ...
