An electronic thermometer for oceanic microthermometry
Journal of Physics E: Scientific Instruments, 1971A highly sensitive, fast response thermistor thermometer for use in measurement of oceanic temperature microstructure has been built and tested. A design criterion of 20 ms response time and 5*10-4 degC resolution was established and attained. Some typical results of microthermal fluctuations obtained at sea are presented.

Near-Infrared Observation and Microthermometry of Pyrite-Hosted Fluid Inclusions
Economic Geology, 2002Pyrite occurs in many types of ore deposits. Although opaque to visible light, some pyrite samples are sufficiently transparent in infrared light to reveal fluid inclusions and other internal features. For a reconnaissance study, 166 doubly polished thick sections of pyrite from 64 deposits worldwide were examined using an infrared microscope.
