Immunohistochemical staining for tyrosine hydroxylase reveals the neurons forming the locus coeruleus complex in the pontine region of the brain of the Congo gray parrot. The appearance and parcellation of the locus coeruleus complex in birds shows many similarities, but also differences to that observed in mammals.

Abstract The pygmy sperm whale (Kogia breviceps) possesses an exocrine gland associated with its false gill slit pigmentation pattern. The cervical gill slit gland is a compound tubuloalveolar gland that produces a holocrine secretion and displays maturational changes in size and secretory histology. While the morphology of the cervical gill slit gland

Abstract Plutonium was discovered and first synthesized in the early 1940's. Several isotopes of plutonium are used in nuclear technologies, 238Pu for heat generation and 239Pu for energy production and weapons. Both isotopes emit alpha particles, which pose a significant radiation hazard when incorporated into the body.

Abstract Electron beam melting (EBM) has been used to fabricate three‐dimensional (3D) porous Ti‐6Al‐4V surfaces for acetabular cups in total hip arthroplasty. However, there are radiographic concerns regarding poor implant fixation and bone ingrowth around electron beam melted (EBMed) 3D porous cups.

Mechanisms of light in regulating the chick pineal clock. Abstract The circadian clock significantly impacts animal health and productivity, with light playing a crucial role in regulating circadian rhythms. However, the mechanisms behind light‐induced circadian transmission remain unclear, particularly in light‐sensitive avian species.

ABSTRACT Hyperthyroidism causes secondary osteoporosis through favoring bone resorption over bone formation, leading to bone loss with elevated bone fragility. Osteocytes that reside within lacunae inside the mineralized bone matrix orchestrate the process of bone remodeling and can themselves actively resorb bone upon certain stimuli.

ABSTRACT Ryanodine receptor type 2 (RYR2) is a large calcium channel that has been identified as one of the most frequently mutated genes in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD). Despite its potential significance, the role of RYR2 in LUAD remains poorly understood.
