Microtremor observations in Almeria, Spain

4th EEGS Meeting, 1998
Recent destructive earthquakes have shown that, generally, in unconsolidated soils and sedimentary deposits soil movement can be amplified, in a frequency band increasing shaking duration, and also large differences at the level of damage for relatively short distances.

Ocular microtremor measurement system: Design and performance

Medical & Biological Engineering & Computing, 1993
The frequency of ocular microtremor (OMT) is related to the functional status of the brain stem, and thus OMT may be useful in the diagnosis and management of brain stem disorders. The paper discusses the design of an OMT measurement system and reports quantitative specifications for three portable systems.

Preliminary seismic microzonation of Sivas city (Turkey) using microtremor and refraction microtremor (ReMi) measurements

Journal of Seismology, 2012
Sivas city, located in the inner east part of Anatolia (Turkey), is far from seismic sources. However, the city is under risk owing to strong earthquakes occurring around the area, and different soil conditions that can produce variation in the ground motion amplification.

Investigation of Composite Compacted Ground Using Microtremors

Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering, 2013
AbstractThis paper presents an interesting and unique case study of a composite compacted site where the upper section of dynamically compacted material achieved in the first stage of compaction was subsequently removed, reinstated, and recompacted in lifts in the second stage using conventional roller compaction.

Microtremor Measurements in Budapest

1983
Abstract Microtremor measurements were carried out at 10 sites in Budapest. It has been found that microtremor source processes are not stationary broadband phenomena with a flat spectrum. The effect of any local site conditions seems to be over-shadowed by such factors as the nature of the source and the transmission path characteristics. To obtain

Ocular microtremor in brain stem death

Neurosurgery
OBJECTIVE: This study was undertaken to establish whether measurement of ocular microtremor (OMT) activity could be used as a method to establish brain stem death. Presently, the diagnosis of brain stem death can be made using clinical criteria alone.
