Frequency and Amplification for Assessing site Effects and PVS in the Padang City Railway
The train uses a special line in the form of railroad tracks that produce vibrations during movement. This study aims to determine the type of soil layer and the peak particle velocity due to the train around the Padang City train line.

Seismic Site Effects in Owhiro Bay Quarry, Wellington: Field Observations and Numerical Modelling
Local topography and geology are well known factors affecting the intensity of seismic shaking. We have investigated the seismic site effects at a site of the Owhiro Bay Quarry in Wellington, New Zealand, using instrumental records and numerical models.

Watukumpul is an area that is prone to landslides, so determining the soft layer thickness is very important to identify the landslide potential. The soft layer thickness can be estimated using microtremor signal measurements which analyzed using the ...

Shallow Shear‐Wave Reflection Surveys in the Wellington Central Business District
Seismic reflection profiling using shear waves provides constraints on the thickness of sediments beneath the Wellington Central Business District. Standard seismic methods were modified for urban environments where limited grassed areas are available and levels of cultural noise are high.

This study focuses on the subsurface structure of the Wellington basin and an assessment of the shaking potential due to the basin edge‐effect at its western margin. Seismic reflection surveys combined with gravity modelling provide data for a structural model from which to base our shaking analysis.

Utilization of Spatially Distributed mHVSR to Assess the Effectiveness of Ground Response Analysis
One‐dimensional ground response analyses (GRAs) can introduce model error to site response estimates when wave propagation is not dominated by vertically propagating shear waves. We investigate whether the variability of spatially distributed microtremor‐based horizontal‐to‐vertical spectral ratios (mHVSR) is related to GRA effectiveness using data ...

SPAC: An alternative method to estimate earthquake site effects in Mexico City [PDF]
Microtremor recordings are a very useful tool for microzonation studies because of simple data acquisition and analysis. The Spatial Autocorrelation Method (SPAC) proposed by Aki (1957), may be used to constrain the velocity structure underlying the site

Groundwater Transport in a Glaciomarine Aquitard: Paleosalinity and Landslide Implications
Transient 1D modeling of both [Cl] and δ18O demonstrates that advection and diffusion contribute to solute transport in porewater of glaciomarine Champlain Sea muds. Samples with the highest sensitivity (>30) for landslide hazard occur in the current leached zone.

We investigated the applicability of miniature microtremor arrays with a radius of a few meters or less to shallow surveys (up to a few tens of meters). It is shown that the upper limit wavelength normalized by the seismometer separation distance s that ...
