Analyzing Machine Learning Predictions of Passive Microwave Brightness Temperature Spectral Difference Over Snow-Covered Terrain in High Mountain Asia

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2019
Snow is an important component of the terrestrial freshwater budget in high mountain Asia (HMA) and contributes to the runoff in Himalayan rivers through snowmelt.

What does the future hold for microwave? "Microwave effect"

open access: yes, 2015
Although we use microwave heating for chemical processes worth millions of dollars, the mechanism of the microwave heating is not very well understood. Progress in measuring local temperatures in microwave-heated transformations will allow us to search ...

Magneto‐NIR‐II‐Programmed Cascade Nanozymes Unlocking Blood–Brain Barrier Translocation and Autophagic Resistance in Glioblastoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Magneto‐NIR‐II‐programmed NFSH nanozymes integrate magnetic blood–brain barrier (BBB) translocation, CD44 targeting, multimodal imaging, and cascade catalytic therapy for glioblastoma. Alternating magnetic fields and NIR‐II irradiation amplify ferroptosis, release H2S, suppress autophagic and mitophagic repair, and reshape the immune microenvironment ...

Janus Nanostructures Enabled by Confined Interfacial Engineering for Enhanced Electromagnetic Response

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Confined diffusion‐driven interfacial engineering enables the nanoscale construction of asymmetric SiC@C Janus hollow nanoshells, achieving synergistic impedance matching and electromagnetic energy dissipation for highly efficient broadband microwave absorption at ultralow filler loading.

The intrinsic B-mode polarisation of the cosmic microwave background [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
. We estimate the B-polarisation induced in the Cosmic Microwave Background by the non-linear evolution of density perturbations. Using the second-order Boltzmann code SONG, our analysis incorporates, for the first time, all physical effects at ...

EP300‐Mediated MTF1‐K218 Lactylation Buffers AR‐Driven Copper Overload to Suppress Cuproptosis in Castration‐Resistant Prostate Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Androgen receptor (AR) drives copper accumulation in prostate cancer while inducing MTF1 to buffer copper toxicity. EP300‐mediated lactylation of MTF1 at K218 promotes its nuclear translocation and metallothionein expression, sequestering cytosolic copper and preventing mitochondrial cuproptosis.

Dimensional Engineering of Carbon‐Based Hybrids: From 1D Conductive Networks to 3D Porous Architectures for Next‐Generation Microwave Absorption

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review explores dimensional architecture engineering to overcome the impedance‐attenuation trade‐off in electromagnetic wave absorbing materials. By analyzing 1D to 3D structures and their multidimensional hybrids, we highlight synergistic mechanisms for enhanced performance.

Calibration of the RapidScat Microwave Brightness Temperature

open access: yes, 2019
NASA RapidScat is the first satellite scatterometer that flown in non-Sun-synchronous orbit. Its unique orbit enabled collocated measurements with multiple satellite remote-sensing instruments that usually fly in Sun-synchronous orbits.

Light‐Controlled Conductive Molecular Wire in an Artificial Lipid Membrane

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A photochromic azobenzene derivative is shown to produce a unique photoelectric response when embedded in artificial lipid membranes. In its trans state, it forms conductive “molecular wires” that enhance membrane conductivity in the dark. Light‐induced cis isomerization suppresses this effect, showing that short‐chain molecules can modulate membrane ...
