Niobium Tunable Microwave Filter
IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2009A superconductor bandpass filter with tunable central frequency in the range of 2-3.5 GHz has been implemented using superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUIDs). The filter is designed using two pi-network resonators connected by a transmission line. Both resonators have a SQUID inductor with a tuning range of 65-200 pH, controlled by current

A survey of the major techniques used in the design of microwave filters is presented in this paper. It is shown that the basis for much fundamental microwave filter theory lies in the realm of lumped-element filters, which indeed are actually used directly for many applications at microwave frequencies as high as 18 GHz.

A review of recent and current work on microwave filters is presented, and an extensive bibliography of recent articles is appended. The review is largely qualitative and pictorial, rather than mathematical. Among the microwave filter topics discussed are band-pass filters with cascaded lifes or cavities; band-pass and band-stop filters with stubs and ...

Synthesizing microwave resonator filters
IEEE Microwave Magazine, 2009In this article, analytic and optimization-based methods for the synthesis of dual-passband microwave filters are presented. First, the frequency transformations for synthesizing dual-passband filters is described. For the filters in which the reflection and transmission zeros cannot be found analytically using frequency transformations, an ...

Filters are an essential part of telecommunications and radar systems and are key items in the performance and cost of such systems, especially in the increasingly congested spectrum. There has been a particularly marked growth in the cellular communications industry in recent years.

Proceedings of the IRE, 1950
Waveguide bandpass transmission filters, each stage of which is composed of two similar irises spaced a distance s apart, are considered. The distance between stages for effectively quarter-wave coupling is shown to be s±1/4λ g/ g. The loaded Q of one stage is computed, and the frequency consciousness of the iris susceptance is shown to have no effect ...
