A CMOS microwave heating system

2017 IEEE/SICE International Symposium on System Integration (SII), 2017
A microwave heating system is designed and implemented using CMOS technology. An LC oscillator is used to generate the required microwave, while a temperature sensor is for the temperature detection. The 3-bit switch is implemented to adjust the supply current and output power of the microwave heating system.

Aflatoxin destruction by microwave heating

International Journal of Food Sciences and Nutrition, 1996
Microwaves were used in the present work in order to destroy pure aflatoxins (model system), and yellow corn and peanuts containing aflatoxins (food system). Pure aflatoxins (B1, B2, G1 and G2) were individually coated on a silica gel and exposed to microwaves at various power settings and periods.

Effect of Microwave Heating on Phytosterol Oxidation

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2015
The oxidative stability of phytosterols during microwave heating was evaluated. Two different model systems (a solid film made with a phytosterol mixture (PSF) and a liquid mixture of phytosterols and triolein (1:100, PS + TAG (triacylglycerol))) were heated for 1.5, 3, 6, 12, 20, and 30 min at 1000 W. PS degraded faster when they were microwaved alone

Design of a Dielectric Applicator for Microwave Heating

Journal of Microwave Power and Electromagnetic Energy, 2008
In this paper the design of a handheld light applicator for microwave heating is presented. The applicator is made of an array of resonant longitudinal slots cut on a broad wall of a rectangular waveguide, and it is covered by a cylindrical lens made of Plexiglas with a permittivity of 2.53.

Waveguide slot applicators for microwave heating

17th International Conference on Applied Electromagnetics and Communications, 2003. ICECom 2003., 2004
In this paper we present an empirical procedure to design microwave slot array applicators for heating lossy dielectric slabs. To this end, a commercial simulation code has been used to characterize the behaviour of a slot radiating on a dielectric slab with a given complex permittivity.

Microwave Heating of Materials with Nonohmic Conductance

SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 1993
Summary: The microwave heating of a material with temperature-dependent, nonohmic conductance is considered both analytically and numerically. In the case when the microwave amplitude is small, it is shown using a multiple scales expansion that the heating is governed by a Ginzburg-Landau type equation.

Experiments on Microwave Heating

International Journal of Electrical Engineering & Education, 1988
The paper describes a series of experiments to illustrate microwave heating techniques. The experiments are based around easily available and relatively cheap equipment and attempt to demonstrate important considerations in industrial applications of microwave heating with particular reference to drying.

Cavity Effects in Microwave Heating of Ceramics

SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 1997
Summary: The heating of a ceramic slab in a \(TE_{103}\) waveguide applicator is modeled in the small Biot number limit. If \(E_0\) is the strength of the incident mode, then the relationship between the temperature and \(E_0^2\) is shown to be bistable or s-shaped, in this limit.

Possibilities of Microwave Heating

10th European Microwave Conference, 1980, 1980
Theorical and experimental approaches show that microwave energy, used together with a classical one, can lead to a best control of temperature profile. An example is given on a drying process.
