A Numerical Approach to Microwave Imaging
18th European Microwave Conference, 1988, 1988A numerical approach is proposed that aims to detect, by means of interrogating microwaves, the locations, shapes, and dielectric properties of unknown bodies inside an investigation volume. The integral vector equation of electromagnetic scattering is numerically inverted by the moment method in terms of the distribution of the equivalent electric ...

Microwave System for Head Imaging
IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2014A wideband microwave system for head imaging is presented. The system includes an array of 16 corrugated tapered slot antennas that are installed on an adjustable platform. A switching device is used to enable the antennas to sequentially send a wideband 1-4 GHz microwave signal and capture the backscattered signals.

Although the theme of this book is radar remote sensing, imaging with passive microwave is a complementary technology that warrants an introduction to identify its role alongside radar. This chapter lays the framework for passive microwave imaging, drawing in part from the scattering treatment developed for imaging radar in Chapt ...

Microwave imaging and microwave induced thermoacoustic tomography
2015 IEEE International Conference on Microwaves, Communications, Antennas and Electronic Systems (COMCAS), 2015Breast cancer imaging by microwaves has been investigated intensively over the past two decades due to the potentially high electrical contrasts between malignant tumors and normal breast tissue, but so far clinically successful systems have been rare.
