Bay‐functionalized [7]Helicene Bilayer Nanographenes
Bay‐functionalized [7]helical bilayer nanographenes are synthesized via a scalable, modular strategy enabling late‐stage diversification. Tailored methoxy, diketone, and phenazine substitutions precisely tune redox, photophysical, and chiroptical properties, delivering strong electronic circular dichroism and bright circularly polarized luminescence ...

A Comparison of Laser and Microwave Approaches to CW Beamed Energy Launch [PDF]
One approach to beamed energy propulsion uses a solid heat exchanger to absorb energy from a distant source and transfer it to a working fluid. Systems of this type can be designed using either microwave or laser sources.

Evaluating Bicarbonate Electrolyzer Configurations for Energy‐Efficient Formate Production
Reactive carbon capture (RCC) with bicarbonate electrolyzers (BEs) offers an efficient alternative to gas‐fed CO2 electrolyzers by eliminating regeneration and pressurization steps. This study optimizes BE configurations and compares RCC chains to gas‐fed carbon chains for formate production.

Photothermal Conversion Promotes Challenging SNAr for Facile C─N Bond Formation
Photothermal conversion enables facile aromatic C─N bond formation via red light irradiation. A variety of inter‐ and intramolecular SNAr transformations are achieved under mild, schematically simple conditions. Additionally, a thermally promoted halogen exchange mechanism provides access to aryl bromides, chlorides, and fluorides – making this ...

Two microwave‐assisted synthetic methods, specifically a one‐pot and a seeded‐growth approach, are developed within a hydroalcoholic solution for the growth of single‐phase ternary WxTi1‐xO2 and heterostructured TiO2‐WO3‐x colloidal nanocrystals. Both types of nanocrystals show significant photocatalytic activity for 4‐methoxybenzyl alcohol oxidation ...
