Experimental and Computational Investigation of Slag–Refractory Interactions Under Conditions Relevant to Hydrogen Plasma Smelting Reduction

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
This study investigates how slag interacts with magnesia–carbon (MgO–C) refractories under conditions relevant to hydrogen plasma smelting reduction. High‐temperature refractory wear tests are combined with thermodynamic modeling to examine refractory dissolution into slag and slag infiltration into the refractory.
