Microwave transistors: Theory and design

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1971
Microwave transistors are useful as small-signal amplifiers to 6 GHz and power amplifiers to 4 GHz. Nearly all microwave transistors are of the silicon planar type. Power transistors use three types of geometries--interdigitated, overlay, and mesh--while small-signal transistors use interdigitated only.

Theory of the Ferromagnetic Microwave Amplifier

Journal of Applied Physics, 1957
The theory of ferromagnetic microwave amplification is presented in detail. All three possible types of operation using, respectively, two electromagnetic cavity modes, two sample modes, and one sample and one cavity mode, are discussed. One especially simple case, that of a sphere in the first type of operation is treated separately.

Introduction to Microwave Theory

Physics Bulletin, 1963
By H. A. Atwater London: McGraw-Hill Publishing Co. Ltd. 1962. Pp. x + 244. Price 68s. It appears that this book would be suitable for final year and postgraduate courses in physics and electrical engineering in British Universities. The standard of work is high, as would be expected of a work in the McGraw-Hill Electrical and Electronic Engineering ...

Microwave response of DNA in solution: Theory

Physical Review A, 1988
Recent studies by Edwards, Davis, Swicord, and Saffer have indicated resonant absorption of microwave radiation by DNA in solution. Previous theoretical calculations had indicated that such resonances should be overdamped. We present a more realistic model that provides a parametrization for the overcoming of the overdamping.

Theory of a Microwave Spectroscope

Physical Review, 1946
The measurement of the absorption of centimeter radiation in water vapor described by Becker and Autler (preceding paper) is based on the assumption that the thermocouple readings are proportional to the $Q$ of the cavity and its contents. The conditions for this are investigated theoretically.
