Hearing microwaves: the microwave auditory phenomenon
IEEE Antennas and Propagation Magazine, 2001The microwave auditory phenomenon, or the microwave hearing effect, pertains to the hearing of short pulses of modulated microwave radiation at high peak power by humans and laboratory animals. Anecdotal and journalistic reports of the hearing of microwave pulses persisted throughout the 1940s; and 1950s.

Generation of ultrastable microwaves via optical frequency division
, 2011Researchers demonstrate a microwave generator based on a high-Q optical resonator and a frequency comb functioning as an optical-to-microwave divider. They generate 10 GHz electrical signals with a fractional frequency instability of ≤8 × 10−16 at 1 s.
